The Faculty of Science and Technology at Free University of Bolzano-Bozen (Italy) invites applications for an
Associate Professor of Animal Nutrition
The position is intended to develop the area of Animal Science with special emphasis on nutrition and on production systems aimed at the production of healthy food of animal origin in the mountain regions where dairy and beef, cattle, and pig farms are predominant. In teaching, a spectrum of disciplines related to farm animal breeding (eg. Animal Anatomy and Physiology, Animal Genetic) should be covered.
The professorship is intended to develop an interdisciplinary approach, interacting with colleagues of grass management, agricultural botany, biology, soil science, food technology and microbiology.
Preconditions for employment are: successful completion of academic studies at an institute of higher education, pedagogical aptitude, Ph.D./doctorate and postdoctoral qualification. Candidates should prove they represent their fields in teaching/research at an internationally approved standard. Only candidates already holding at a non-Italian University an academic position equivalent to the one they apply for are eligible for the position - according to the Italian law about "chiamata diretta".
